SwitchCut edits your recordings on your Mac. The website separately collects the details you enter when you join the early-access list.

Your footage

SwitchCut runs entirely on your computer. Your video and audio files are read from your drive, the edit is built on your drive, and the finished project opens in your CapCut. SwitchCut does not upload those recordings to its website or send them to a speech-recognition service. Speech recognition runs locally after its model has downloaded.

Speech-model downloads

The app downloads a speech model when you first build with spoken-word analysis. The download provider receives an ordinary download request, including your network address. Your recordings are not part of that request. You can choose audio levels only to skip speech recognition.

The early-access list

If you join the list, we save your email address, your computer choice, the signup time, and a confirmation reference in Cloudflare D1. We use those details to manage early access and contact you about it. The signup form does not send a confirmation email.

The signup service also keeps a coded network identifier for up to two hours to limit repeated requests. It does not store your raw network address in the waitlist database. Cloudflare serves this website, and the website loads fonts from Google; those services receive ordinary web requests.

We retain signup details while managing early access. To request removal from the list, email [email protected] from the address you signed up with.
